Worked on a contract to move a $50,000/month infrastructure hosted in RackSpace to Amazon Web Services (AWS), where monthly costs were cut by at least 2k. The reliability and disaster recovery options were greatly improved as well. The scalability was greatly enhanced using Docker containers and additional serverless microservices created with .NET Core Lambda functions.
The new Lambda-based microservice-based API is the future offering for my client as they move away from a WinForms client to an API-based product offering.
